Tying it all together.....Watch & Listen as Paul Andersen connects the two vital cellular processes.
Culminating Project
Now that you have spend significant time studying the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology, let's have a little fun! With your small group, you will use modeling clay (or Play-Doh) and one of our Flip cameras or a digital camera of your own to create a Claymation (sometimes called stopmotion) movie about either transcription and translation.
What is a Stopmotion movie you ask? Click here to learn about them. For additional help with video editing or learning about the Central Dogma concepts, check out the 'Additional Resources' page.

Claymation Movie
In this activity, your group will use Play-Doh to model the either transcription or translation in eukaryotes. For each model, you will use a digital camera to capture images as you model the process. These images along with labels, a narration, and any additional special effects will then be turned into a claymation movie by your group. All group members’ voices must be heard in the narration of the modeled process. It is expected that all members also contribute to the video editing that must be completed. Below you will find a list of structures/processes that need to be included (for each respective process) in your movie, as well a rubric for this activity.
